NYC Class schedule

Victorio offers flamenco dance classes in New York City. He teaches a traditional flamenco style greatly influenced by many of his former teachers, including the renowned dancer, El Farruco, a gypsy who truly symbolized for him someone capable of expressing through dance the entire history of his race. While tradition remains the essential part of his class, Victorio does experiment with more contemporary forms of Spanish dance as a means of broadening one's horizon.

In addition to teaching a formalized structure of heel work, body posture, turns, and rhythmic patterns, Victorio has developed an innovative style of arm movements that creates a more dynamic form of expression. As he describes it: "The audience should listen to the dancer's feet but be totally absorbed by what one is expressing with the upper body."

Victorio also specializes in coaching contemporary, ballet and ballroom dancers in Spanish dance to enhance their lines and style. In April, 2014, he was honored at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York by the two world champion ballroom couples for teaching them Spanish dance. (Dancers: Troels and Ina; and Slavik and Karina.)
